Perinatal Emotional Wellbeing

At Attuned Perinatal Psychology, we offer specialist and compassionate psychological therapies to support your mental health during pregnancy and postnatally. We are skilled at using evidence-based therapies to support you to address difficulties and stay well on your perinatal journey. Our focus is on nurturing your emotional wellbeing, addressing trauma, anxiety, low mood and enhancing the parent-infant relationship.

Psychological Therapies

Nearly a quarter of women in the perinatal period will experience emotional or psychological difficulties. We offer evidence-driven psychological interventions for a range of different concerns to enable you to navigate your journey with confidence and wellbeing.  

Preconception

Preparing to grow your family can bring excitement as well as uncertainty. We support individuals and couples as they navigate the emotional, relational and psychological aspects of planning for parenthood. Our work focuses on on strengthening wellbeing, clarifying values and addressing any concerns or past experiences that may shape your journey.

Fertility

Fertility challenges can be deeply distressing and isolating. We provide a compassionate space to process the emotional impact of infertility, navigate complex decisions and foster resilience throughout treatment or uncertainty. Our approach helps you feel grounded and supported while honouring the unique path your family-building journey may take. 

Antenatal and birth

Pregnancy is a time of profound change and it's completely natural to experience mixed emotions. We help expectant parents manage anxiety, mood changes, fears about birth and shifting identity. Together, we work to build confidence, prepare for the transition to parenthood and create a more positive and empowering birth experience. 

Postnatal

Life after birth can be joyful and overwhelming in equal measure. We support parents experiencing postnatal anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties or challenges in bonding. Our therapy offers a non-judgmental space to explore your experiences, reduce distress, strengthen your wellbeing and reconnect with yourself during a period of significant transformation. 

Trauma

Perinatal experiences can sometimes be traumatic - whether related to medical complications, difficult births, prior histories or unexpected events. We provide trauma-informed care that gently supports healing, emotional regulation and a sense of safety. Our evidence-based therapeutic approaches help you address trauma symptoms and make sense of your experiences.  

Perinatal loss

Perinatal loss at any stage - miscarriage, termination, stillbirth or neonatal loss - is profoundly heartbreaking. We offer sensitive, specialised support to help individuals and families navigate grief, honor their baby and find meaning in the aftermath of loss. Therapy provides a compassionate space to hold your grief at your own pace without pressure or expectations.
